Redcar 1st XV and Mariners are both at home with Barnard Castle and Thirsk on the menu!

Redcar 1st XV keep going from strength to strength in D&N2 with 6 from 6 and the most points scored in the league. Bonus points or the lack thereof last season was RRUFC's downfall, this season we are clocking up the points in style. However, Head Coach, Neil Young knows that the league campaign starts this week with the visit of Barnard Castle and that we can't afford to be complacent or tired looking against teams in or around the Top 6.

Last season Barnard Castle was another RRUFC bogey team, with a victory at home, but due to low numbers able to travel, a loss was clocked up when we visited them at the back end of the season.

Redcar Mariners, who are going through a phase of expansion and rebuilding, will feel fresh as their game against Horden 3rds was cancelled at the last minute this weekend. Unfortunate things happen at this level of rugby and just because the game was cancelled, didn't mean that The Mariners didn't go out for an hour of full sized pitch touch rugby! This weekend, a new entry to the league visits, a reformed Thirsk 2nds.

Selections to be posted.
