Redcar travelled to North Shields with a much changed team due to being let down by several payers. They found it hard going against a strong Shields pack which dominated the lineouts and scrums and so Redcar found it hard to get any possession.
Shields scored first with an unconverted try before Redcar replied with a penalty from Liam Rogers
. Shields continued to control the game and were rewarded with another try before half time which was converted.
Half Time 12 – 3
The second half started much as the first with Shields scoring two more tries, one of which was converted making the score 24 – 3 then Redcar fought back and scored two unconverted tries, the first from Andy Wills and the second from Jamie Butler
Redcar dominated the last 10 mins of the game with Mark Patterson making strong runs but the score line was unchanged.
