After an exciting weekend of FA Cup third round action, league football is back and The Reds Bar has it all live so you don’t miss any of the action!
On Saturday, the EFL Championship gets the football underway with Neil Warnock’s Cardiff City hosting Chris Coleman’s Sunderland in the early kick-off (12.30). Both sides have had very different fortunes this season, with Cardiff flying high and chasing promotion, whilst Sunderland, find themselves in the relegation zone after a dreadful first half of the campaign.
The evening game is a clash of two former giants, with Nottingham Forest vs Aston Villa (17.30). After a brilliant result against FA Cup holders Arsenal on Sunday, confidence will be high at The City Ground, whilst Steve Bruce’s Aston Villa will be trying to continue their promotion push, after a thumping 5-0 win against Bristol City on New Year’s Day.
Sunday sees the return of the Premier League, with Bournemouth hosting Arsenal (13.30) with both sides needing the points to meet their objectives come May. This game last season resulted in a 3-3 thriller, with Arsenal battling back late to salvage a draw.
Then it is over to Anfield, with in-form Liverpool hoping to end the unbeaten run of leaders Manchester City (16.00). New £75 million signing Virgil Van Dijk had a dream debut in the FA Cup against Everton on Friday and he will be hoping for more of the same. Both sides boast a lethal attacking force and there is a great possibility of goals, making this a game to not miss.
So, with The Reds away at Dorchester Town this weekend, come to The Reds Bar and enjoy a pint and some food as a weekend of football unfolds.
