Redditch United Director, Paul West, is to step down from his role with immediate effect.
In a statement, Paul, who will continue his role as a coach in the girls’ junior section, said that while the club was at an “exciting stage of its development”, commitments elsewhere have triggered his decision to relinquish his position, but he paid tribute to those associated with Redditch United:
“I would like to thank Chairman Chris Swan and all board members, whom I have had the privilege of working alongside during the last few years. Additionally, the players, management, staff, volunteers and, of course, the Reds’ faithful, have always been supportive of myself and my family, for which we will always be grateful.
“With the continued support, not just from a commercial point of view, but from its growing community membership from all ages and walks of life, Redditch United is a club that I am confident will grow from strength-to-strength.
“I wish everyone associated with the club all the best for the future, and I am sure that I will bump into supporters from time-to-time.”
Redditch United Chairman, Chris Swan, said: “On behalf of everyone associated with Redditch United Football Club, I would like to thank Paul for his enormous contribution to the club. He has played a significant part in the progress off-the-pitch, while he has obviously fulfilled his other role as a youth coach with dedication and professionalism.”
Having grown up in Redditch, Paul has always had an affinity for the club, and he wanted to inject his passion for the town and football in the local community. Paul leaves the club knowing he has achieved his ambition, and Redditch United will always welcome him back as a friend to The TRICO Stadium.
