Redditch United is delighted to announce that former Birmingham City and two-time European Cup winner, Kenny Burns, will be bringing the famous trophy to The TRICO Stadium when he hosts an evening on Friday 18th May.
Kenny made more than 160 appearances for the Blues between 1971 and 1977, where he combined his aerial prowess and physique with the tricky and contrasting skills of Bob Hatton and Trevor Francis.
One of Kenny’s most iconic moment in a Blues’ shirt came at Villa Park in September 1976, when he scored in-front of the Holte End during a 2-1 victory, while hat-tricks against Leicester City and a four-goal haul against Derby County cemented his place as a true fan favourite.
He then enjoyed a highly-decorated four-year spell with Nottingham Forest, culminating in being part of Brian Clough’s back-to-back European Cup-winning squad in 1979 and 1980.
He was also part of the team that won the 1978 First Division title and claimed back-to-back league cups in 1978 and 1979. He also won FWA Footballer of the Year in 1978 and won 20 caps for Scotland.
With Kenny’s pedigree, illustrious football career and plentiful stories from his playing days, especially when playing under Brian Clough, this promises to be an evening that fans will not want to miss. In addition, a comedian will be present throughout the evening.
Tickets are expected to be in high-demand, so supporters are urged to purchase theirs quickly to ensure they are not disappointed.
Tickets are £20, which includes a pie and chip supper – vegetarian and gluten-free options are available. For those that want to enjoy a pre-event drink and meal with Kenny, platinum tickets are available for £40.
Tickets can be purchased from The TRICO Stadium or by calling 07908757324. Enquiries can also be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org
Doors and The Reds Bar will open at 6.30pm, and food will be served from 7pm.
