New first-team manager begins 2018/2019 preparations

Redditch United has agreed deals with four new players as new First-Team Manager, Paul Davis, shapes his squad ahead of the 2018/2019 Evo-Stik South – Premier season.

Jamie Ashmore, Luke Keen, Max Loveridge and Montel Gibson, who enjoyed a spell with The Reds towards the end of last season, have all put pen-to-paper on contracts and will join the rest of the squad for when pre-season begins on the 28th June.

Ashmore (top-left) played an integral role in helping Alvechurch secure league promotion last term and the right-back, who has turned out for The Reds previously, will be a valuable asset, according to Davis:

“Jamie is an outstanding right-back, and I am thrilled to gain his signature. He is excellent defensively, but, like most modern-day full-backs, he is also attack-minded, so we hope he will play his part in adding goals to our team.”

Another former Redditch United player, Keen (top-right) joins from Bedworth after his 18 league goals helped secure his now ex-team secure promotion. Davis said: “Luke is a proven goalscorer, and the coaching staff and I are confident that he will carry that form into the new season.”

Loveridge (bottom-left) is yet another player that joins the club with a winning mentality after he played a crucial part in Bromsgrove’s title win last season. He is also a former Red, and Davis is delighted to have the midfielder back at The TRICO Stadium:

“He has a mature head on young shoulders, has bundles of energy, and will be a welcome addition to the squad."

Gibson (bottom-right) will be particularly memorable to The Reds’ faithful after making several appearances at the end of the 2017/2018 season – his brief spell impressed Davis and the manager believes Redditch United has signed “a very special player”, who at the age of 20, has a “very good scoring record and will go on to achieve a lot in the game”.

As Davis continues his preparations ahead of the new season, supporters are urged to keep up-to-date with the latest at The TRICO Stadium by either checking the website or social media channels – Twitter: @RedditchUnited1 or Facebook: Redditch United FC – Official.
