The Community

Redingensians is a Model of Good Practice for its work in the community. For many years we have been Wokingham Council's partner rugby club, and we now work closely with The Bulmershe School as the Specialist Sports College for Wokingham. Examples of our community projects are;

Hosting tag rugby tournaments of behalf of the Council and the School-Sports Partnership since 1999.

Running Outreach Sessions at local Secondary Schools to allow children to "Come and Try" rugby.

Coaching in local schools to prepare for various tournaments.

Maintaining Club-School links with most local Secondary Schools, and several Primary Schools. This is a new initiative and the number of partner schools is growing quickly.

Providing a Redingensians Ambassador to all Primary Schools that have a Club-School link with the club.

Inviting PE Coordinators from local Primary Schools to attend Mini Rugby events.

Participating in the recent School Sports Week with The Bulmershe School to provide further opportunities to "Come and Try" rugby.

Coaching and Managing the Wokingham tag rugby team to three victories in the now-defunct Thames Valley Youth Games, the Council's most successful sport in this event.
