Under 9 Player & Clubmam of the Year
This year’s end of season awards came slightly earlier than normal.
Our last session a festival followed by the tour meant the coaches had to put their thinking caps on at a meeting at the pub earlier than expected.
Each and every member of the squad deservers an award for the effort they have put in this season, especially as it’s the first season of contact.
Jacob Watkins, Clubman of the Year.
Jacobs put a great deal of effort at training. He has not missed one training session all season.
He’s quite often waiting for us coaches to arrive on Sunday morning.
He has played a crucial part of the Rams team all season either playing at Prop, Centre or Flanker positions. Whenever he has possession of the ball he makes ground for the team and is fantastic at setting the ball at the ruck.
Archie MacArthur. Player of the Year.
This is Archie’s first year at the club. Some say that size is not important and we have many in the squad to prove that point, but with the combination of skill, passion and determination that Archie has shown all season he has made a great contribution to the success of the squad. It also helps the squad at training; if we can work out how to stop him when he’s driving forward with the ball it will give us an advantage over other teams we meet. He has played a pivotal role in the squad; he played his heart out at our festival. Well done and well deserved.
As I write this we have returned from tour as cup winners, both Jacob & Archie and many more from the squad played their part to make this a great end to the season.
