Ugo Monye and Lewis ‘Mad Dog’ Moody surprise Penzance & Newlyn RFC

3 months ago By Pitch Hero

This month, Ugo invited former England Rugby star Lewis Moody along to Cornwall, to surprise our February Kids First Champion Club, Penzance & Newlyn RFC.

Penzance & Newlyn RFC were chosen for their work in creating a great rugby environment and their focus on upskilling their coaches. They also run their own initiative whereby each week kids who have demonstrated one of rugby’s core values are rewarded with an armband relevant to that value. They then read out what that value is all about – to the entire team! Lewis Moody commented on the presentation that took place at the training session: “That’s incredibly moving and being here to see that has been really special.”

Does your club or school have what it takes to become the next Kids First Champion? Find out how your club could become the next champion. A panel will select the winners and all winning clubs will receive a surprise visit by former England Rugby star Ugo Monye AND get to attend a training day at Twickenham at the end of the season!

To be in with the chance of your rugby club or school becoming an OMW Kids First Champion, visit the England Rugby website, select ‘Nominate’ and complete the entry form.
