The Sirens open their league campaign with an exciting home clash against Bracknell Ladies

A small group of women gathered at Old Bath Road over April, May and June of 2016 to take part in a series of rugby fitness and skills sessions. Nobody who was present in those early days knew what the future would hold for those intrepid pioneers. Over the coming months the sessions continued and the number of women attending the regular Wednesday training sessions grew rapidly; as did the playing abilities of the participants.

Now, on Sunday 8th October 2017 at 2.30pm twenty two of those women will take to the field at Redingensians as the clubs first ever competitive women’s rugby team. The Sirens, as they are now known, will be wearing their Wadworth and Siamang Ltd sponsored shirts as they play local rivals Bracknell Ladies. These two teams have met before when the Sirens visited Bracknell Ladies for a friendly at the end of last season. This time though both teams are in National Challenge 3 South East West where they will be competing for league honours. For the Sirens this is also their first ever home game having travelled for both of their pre season friendlies.

The Sirens are proud to represent Redingensians Rams in women’s rugby and aim to play according to the mantra of club Head Coach Seb Reynolds and Embrace The Chaos. On Thursday Lead Coach Pete Bloomfield announced his first competitive Sirens 22 and Redingensians is proud to welcome these individuals to the #Ramily
