Included this week is our own Robin Wedlake who was the only back to score a hat-trick in the National Leagues and above.

Robin was joined in the side by former Redruth Junior Javiah Pohe. The full fantasy side was:

1. David Manning (Henley) – Trailing at the break, the Hawks put their foot down with two tries in six minutes. Manning went over for the second which Taunton couldn’t recover from.
2. Alex Loney (Fylde) – The Lancashire outfit struggled to put Tynedale away but they did so with ten minutes to go when Loney scored his side’s fifth try.
3. Guido Cambareri (Chinnor) – Chinnor were staring defeat in the face trailing 24-21 with three minutes to go; but Cambareri, who had come off the bench, saved the day with the match-winning try.
4. Joe Makin (Hull Ionians) – It took 19 minutes for the N2N leaders and Makin to get on the board at Leicester Lions. But once they did there was no stopping them. Seven more tries followed, including a second for Makin, for arguably the performance of the season in the league.
5. Jon George (Bishop’s Stortford) – The big lock did not score but his huge work rate in the engine room was the reason BS tore Dings apart.
6. Gareth Turner (Broadstreet) – Caldy were on course for a stunning comeback at Broadstreet but Turner stopped them in their tracks with his second try of the game. Street look safe from relegation now.
7. Joe Bercis (Ampthill) – With Ionians having one game in hand, Ampthill cannot afford to drop any points in N2N and they didn’t at Stourbridge. Bercis was once again at his try-scoring best with yet another hat-trick to take his season’s tally to 26 tries in 24 games.
8. Jack Preece (Rotherham) – The Titans are very much in the race to make the Championship semi-finals for the second year running after their derby win against Yorkshire Carnegie and Preece, who scored two tries, had a lot to do with it.
9. Will Crow (Dorking) – The scrum-half scored a second-half brace to rescue a vital draw in Canterbury as the Surrey side look to secure second place and have a shot at N1 promotion.
10. Henry Slade (Exeter) – The Exeter youngster showed what all the fuss is about at Harlequins with a fly-half masterclass. One try, two conversions and six penalties for a personal haul of 27 points.
11. Ryan Squires (Blackheath) – Club downed Esher in the derby and Squires played a crucial role in that. One try and five from five from the tee.
12. Javiah Pohe (Nottingham) – The youngster, dual-registered with Leicester, didn’t manage to get over the line but it wasn’t for lack of effort as he tore the Cornish Pirates’ defence to shreds all game.
13. Corey Hircock (Cambridge) – His side nearly let slip a 19-9 half-time lead as they conceded two unconverted tries to level the score. But Hircock stepped in and clinched it with a try in injury time.
14. Robin Wedlake (Redruth) – The only hat-trick from a back last week! A fine performance from Wedlake and Redruth who thumped lowly Shelford 41-5.
15. David Evans (Birmingham & Solihull) – The Bees are in a precarious position right now but they will go down fighting, if they do. They never gave up at Harrogate to snatch a fine away win thanks to Evans’ try in the dying seconds.
