One of the documents recently uploaded onto the Club Website is the Junior Tennis at Reigate LTC 2016 document. This was a document originally created by Kate (previous Junior Chair) in 2014. I have updated it to reflect our Junior Tennis for 2016. It is split into different age groups and highlights what is on offer including all the INFX Squad Coaching Sessions.

FRIDAY JUNIOR TENNIS SUPERSTARS EVENING

Thank you to everyone who came to our first monthly Superstars event. A great time was had by all the players and it was great to see the clubhouse packed with people.

As it was a Superstars event there were some Winners so congratulations go to:

Edward Hardy and Anna Rushton in Session 1.
Niamh Hyde and Isabella Molinari in Session 2.

Also a big thank you to Helena and her team for providing Superstars Suppers.

AEGON JUNIOR TEAMS

For those that did not see my news item on the Club Website, our AEGON Junior Teams on their first weekend of matches had considerable success. They won all their home matches and in the away matches were given two walkovers but suffered two losses. The away matches that were played were close and we lost out in some close three set matches. The results were:

TOURNAMENT SUCCESS

It is always nice to report when one of our Juniors wins an Open event. Congratulations therefore go to Anna McWilliams who won the Girls U9 event at the Sutton Tennis Academy Easter Grade 3 Tournament. Anna had to win five matches, most of which were against similar rated players. So well done to Anna.

CLUB JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS

Closing date for Entries has now closed. I am currently in the process of producing the draw which will be displayed on the Tournament Notice Board and on the Club Website. All successful entries will be notified separately by email.

ROAD TO WIMBLEDON TOURNAMENT

Our Club Stage Event of this Tournament was run over the weekend and congratulations go to the following players who have qualified to the Semi Finals and Final:

Boy’s Final - Maximus Sutton-Parker v Joel Martin
Girl’s Semi Finals - Sofia Gibbon v Madeleine Alcock, Charlotte Endsleigh v Julianne Gibbon

One Girl’s Semi Finals and the Boy’s Final will be played during Friday Junior Tennis Evening on the 6th May and the Girls Final will be played on the following Friday 13th May. Thanks to all the players that participated in the qualifying rounds where all matches were well contested and played at a high level.

QUORN FAMILY TENNIS CUP RED BALL TOURNAMENT

This event provides families with the opportunity to play tennis in an informal, fun competition way. We ran this event last year which proved very popular. This year we will be running it again on Sat 14th May 12-3pm. The winners will go on to have a day out at a Quorn Family Tennis Cup event held on the qualifying weekend of a LTA Staged Grass Court tournament in June. It is open to any child born 1st Sept 2005 or later playing with an adult family member born 31st August 1997 or earlier (18+).

I have put up a Sign Up Entry Form on the Clubhouse Junior Notice Board with a limit of sixteen pairs. So far we have nine entries. It will be a lot of fun and a great prize to win so get entering. You can also email me with your entry. I have a quote from last year’s winners Sam & Amalio:

“We enjoyed last year's event at the LTA Challenger Event in Surbiton. It was a brilliant day, we played and watched lots of tennis and we were fed really well too.”
