MORRISONS SOLICITORS REIGATE OPEN TOURNAMENT

I am again highlighting details of our our Grade 4 Open Tournament which will be held from Sunday 6th August to Saturday 12th August. The tournament has been open for entries for the last two weeks but we have hardly had any entries yet. So if you plan to enter please do it now. I hope many of our AEGON team players will enter if they are around that week. Also as we have many Tennis Families at the club, I hope many of you will enter the QUORN Family Tennis Cup event.

We will run all Junior age groups from U8 to U18 for both Singles and Doubles.

We will run Open events for Men and Women in both Singles and Doubles.

We will run a QUORN Family Tennis Cup Yellow Ball Event for Adult/Child Doubles Pairs.

The running format of the tournament will change this year in that:

• QUORN Family Tennis Cup event will be held on Sunday 6th August
• The U9, U10, U14 & U18 events will be held over the three days 7th-9th August
• The U12 and U16 events will be held over the last three days 10th-12th August
• The Open Singles events will be held over the six days 7th-12th August.
• The U8 and Open Doubles events will be held on 12th August

I have attached a document with more details and how to enter. Also I hope many of our Tennis Mums and Dads will consider entering the Open Events, especially the Doubles which will be held on Finals Day. Entries close on Thursday 27th July. Please support your club tournament.

FRIDAY EVENING JUNIOR TENNIS

We ran our first Friday Night Team Challenge event last Friday which replaced our previous Superstars event. I hope all the children enjoyed competing in a Team based event. We also combined it with two very successfully Supper Sessions. So, a huge thank you to Helen for buying and preparing the food, for our kitchen helpers Louise, Thalia, Zeenat, Andrea, Dickie and to Owen for manning the Bar.

SUMMER TENNIS HOLIDAY CAMPS

I have again attached a document detailing the Summer Tennis Camps run by our Coaches during the School Summer Holidays. They start from 24th July and conclude on the 18th August and are for 5 – 11 age group.

JUNIOR CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS FINALS DAY

We had a lovely sunny Finals Day which again was combined with the Adult Finals creating a wonderful atmosphere at the Club during the whole day. There were many close matches as can be seen from the results below. The events shown with an ‘*’ means that they were played before or after Finals Day. Also we must congratulate our Junior Josh Wilson for winning the Club Mens Singles event.

AEGON TENNIS TEAMS 2017

We had our final rounds of matches during June and managed a good ratio of wins against losses i.e. 13 Wins against 10 Losses. It should also be noted that we do have several teams in the highest Divisions i.e. Division 1. The June match results are shown below:

Final positions of our Teams were:

Special mention for our Boys 12&U Team 1 and Boys 14U Team for winning their Divisions. Congratulations to the Team Captains Graeme Alston and Jenni Cole and to the players James Alston, Connor Hawkins, Sam Riudavets-Bromwich and Jason Cole, Jamie Driver, Patrick Jolliffe, Joel Martin, Tom Whittle.

Finally, a huge thank you to all the Players and Captains for their support and commitment to this event.
