Our annual Grade 4 Open Tournament is scheduled this year for the second week of August Sunday 6th to Saturday 12th August and will again be sponsored by Morrisons Solicitors.

The tournament will again be refereed by James Smith and Adam Skalsky with Richard Skalsky handling the entries (via the LTA website and internally within the club). We had a very successful tournament last year earning the club over £2,000 in profit and receiving a five-star rating from the LTA.

This year we are making some changes to the tournament. We have replaced the Men’s 50+ Singles event with Open Men’s and Women’s Doubles events which will take place on the last day of the tournament. Also, we will be running the 14U/18U events during the first half of the week and the 12U/16U events during the second half of the week to give more flexibility to the tournament. We are also running on behalf of the LTA, a QUORN Family Tennis Cup Yellow Ball event which will take place on the first day of the tournament. This event is a Doubles event for Adults/Juniors from the same family where the Juniors are in 12U – 18U age group. Finally, we will have a mid-week BBQ.

To make the tournament more attractive to outside players we need our club members to enter as many Junior and Adult events as they can. Also, if this can be done over the next few weeks then the more entries that are showing, the more attractive the tournament becomes. Entries open on the 22nd June 2017.

It will be a fun week with James and Adam running the Tournament and providing additional activities for the Juniors, Sarah Pearson providing the catering and the Bar will be open.
