Litherland REMYCA can today confirm the transfer of Joel Powell from Bootle FC.

Powell made 15 league appearances for Bootle, picking up four yellow cards and three man of the match awards since the beginning of the season.

He was a regular face in Phil Stafford's side during the now-REMYCA boss' time in charge at Vesty Road, but made just one appearance as a substitute in the time since.

And Stafford is delighted to be reacquainted with Powell at the REMY.

"I have watched and worked with Joel over the past few years and he is one of the best defenders at this level.

"He leads by example and his experience and characteristics will help us massively in the coming months, both on and off the pitch. Bringing in players of this quality shows we are moving in the right direction."
