Phil Stafford has joined the coaching staff at Litherland REMYCA, the club are delighted to confirm.
Stafford, who led the side to a third place finish in 2016/17, will work with current boss James Olsen and his backroom team.
After departing to manage his former club Bootle in the summer of 2017, Stafford mutually agreed to leave earlier this season.
The highlight of Stafford's previous reign including guiding the team past a David Unsworth-managed Everton in the LCFA Senior Cup.
Speaking on his return, Stafford said, "When Jay [Olsen] rang me and offered me the chance to come back it was a no brainier.
"I’d had a few offers but it’s the right move and right time for me. I left the club for the wrong reasons after the play off final and it’s something I’ve regretted.
"I feel like Jay has given me the chance to right a few wrongs. I feel like I’m back home and I can’t wait to help the REMY to continue to move forward."
REMYCA manager Olsen explained the decision to hire Stafford, saying, "With Michael Laffey's commitments with Liverpool, his time available for REMYCA has been limited.
"Therefore, I have brought Phil Stafford into the backroom staff to help out.
"Phil is very committed and has a love for the club, he has years of experience in this league and that experience and knowledge shared will be a bonus for to me and the club.
"Welcome to the club Phil."
From all at the club, welcome back, Staffo!
