Litherland REMYCA FC 1 Winsford Utd 1

Following a mid week reversal to Congleton , REMYCA looked to bounce back as they faced Winsford at Litherland Sports Park.
The game went off at a frantic pace with neither team gaining control and the ball being given away by both teams. A brisk wind blowing down the pitch did not help matters
Matt Green the Winsford goalkeeper was a big presence and kept his side in the game with a series of decent saves as REMY pushed to take control of the game.
On 18 minutes as Winsford broke forward a neat back heel from Winsford forward Joe Duckworth put teammate Obi Anorvo clear and he finished clinically into the top corner of the net.
The goal proved a big set back for REMYCA who struggled to stay in the game as the visitors took control
The half time whistle could not come quick enough to allow the home side to regroup.
After the interval REMYCA appeared with renewed vigour, upped the tempo and with the wind at their backs began to dominate. Chances came with Warren Jevons unlucky with several efforts and visiting keeper Green making saves to keep his side in the game.
On 80 minutes The ball broke on the left and Declan Gregson cut inside and finished expertly into the bottom corner to draw REMYCA level.
At this point Winsford we’re defending for their lives but remained resilient pulling numbers behind the ball
So it ended all square in a game that was scrappy not helped by the windy conditions.
Overall, though a share of the spoils on the day was a fair result.
