72 years difference between the batting pair

On Saturday 30th August Renfrew 2nd XI (Deanpark) played a fixture at Bothwell v Uddingston 2nd’s (Bothwell). Renfrew had a many call off due to the start of the football season so panic calls were made to find 11 for the match. Eventually, before the Renfrew innings was complete 10 players were found. One player who answered the call was David Barr, the senior honorary member at the ripe old age of 83 years and 227 days.

It just happened to be that David Barr came out to bat at number 9 and joined Muhaymen Majeed, whose age on the day was 11 years 242 days. The age difference between the two was 71 years and 350 days. Muhaymen made David run at least 2 doubles. They put on. Muhaymen managed 5 and David Barr was out on 6.

Captain Taral Khasiya was keen to find out if this was a record.

It would interest to find out if this is the biggest age difference between a batting pair.
