Retford FC 3-1 Dronfield Town Reserves

Central Midlands League North Division
Saturday 6th October 2018

Report by: Kev Swannack

Retford entertained Dronfield Reserves at the Rail in front of a healthy crowd - considering the weather conditions.

Retford started the strongest with a few half chances but on 36 minutes, it was the visitors who took the lead when Jordan Willis got on the end of a cross from the right to score from close range.
Their lead was short lived as seven minutes later, Adam Scott scored a rare diving header from a pinpoint cross from Martin Woodhead to finish a well worked move.
It wasn't the best half for the home side, with Retford giving the ball away to easy.

Whatever was said at the break seemed to work with the Choughs keeping the ball much better and on 52 minutes, they took the lead through a Tom Gilmore shot from just inside the box which somehow found it's way under the keeper.
Dronfield as always never gave up but Adam Scott made it 3 -1 on 64 minutes when a great first touch from a Will Tomlinson through ball allowed him to race away from the defence and finish well.
It was a lot better second half performance to keep Retford in second place with teams around them failing to pick up points.

Team:
Kennedy, Swannack, Wheeler, Severn, Goddard, Woodhead (Johnson), Bilham, Gilmore, Middleton, Scott (Pickersgill), Tomlinson (Blakey).

Next Match: AWAY v Dinnington Town - Saturday 13th October 2018 - 3.00pm.
