We are all aware of the tough financial times that most football clubs are going through. So it becomes more and more important that home grown talent is developed and nutured through to strengthen the first team.
Firstly I would like to ask Retford United fans if they agree with this statement, and also if they are willing to come down to Cannon Park on wednesday evenings to cheer on perhaps some of the future stars of The Badgers.
Its just £2 entry, the standard of football on show is excellent.
The U19s play in the Baris North Midlands U19s league one.
So let me know what you think and come on down and support the lads.

From afar, couldn`t agree more.

Go to the grounds and give the future of the Club and the game some much needed moral support. Mums, Dads, and Girlfriends are fine, but they love to see a few others on the sideline. Although at my local grounds a week or so ago, saw a young lady sitting on the sidelines with `Shades of Grey` in her hand - well, at least she was there.

My oldest son played for under 19's last year and his brother has signed this year. There are some real quality players there and Rich is showing signs of developing a really good well balanced squad that should challenge. A lot of the lads have grown up together or played together for years at various levels and i wholeheartedly agree that for a couple of quid you are getting real value for money.

Thanks guys, for your support.
The squad this year looks quality, the style and quality of football they have shown in pre-season has been a pleasure to watch. I am sure we are going to have a great season.
We would love to see more of the first team supporters at our games, You won't be dissappointed.
Once again thanks for your support Ted and Stuart.

Just want to say thanks for the support I know that the lifeblood of most under 19's clubs are parents and girlfriends etc,

However we're lucky at Retford that we get quite a few regulars through the gate like Dave and Janet, who follow the 1st team and still come out to give the U19s their support midweek, something which the lads and myself really appreciate.

We're doing our best to put together a side which while competitive at our own level will achieve the ultimate aim of producing players who are comfortable at 1st team level. I honestly believe that we are some way to achieving that aim.

We're playing a style of football which I will continue to push because I want our young players to play the right way and I hope that as said above we can get people hooked if they give up their time to come and support the guys!!

We've seen some great support this season so far, thank you greatly for that, I think my original statement and question has been answered. We have all seen the impact players like Bobby are having in first team. Our supporter numbers have got up to around 60 for home games, I set my self a target of 75 by the end of the season, so ask your friends, fellow first team supporters, and help me hit my target. Because I truely believe these lads are the future of the Badgers. Great football to watch too! THURSDAY25th OCTOBER, RETFORD UNITED V ARNOLD TOWN 7.45 KO
Many thanks . Andy Ellis U19s secretary.

Good on you, Andrew, for your perseverence. Good on you 60 odd also. Now your cool months, probably already there, will sort out he players from the stayers. If your lads are anything like some of our younger teams here, far, far away, whilst not as physical, are often much more fun to watch than some of the seniors.

Happy Chistmas.

Thanks Ted for your comments
And a massive thanks and a very Happy new year to all the supporters who have I am sure enjoyed some great football both home and away with our young Badgers.
Second in the league, through to the cup quarter finals, What a season so far !
And what a month to come ! we hope to see as many of you as possible cheering the lads on in what must be the most important month of the season.
Thursday 10th Jan at home in league Cup quarter final against Matlock.
Thursday 17th Jan away to league leaders Sheffield FC !
Tuesday 22nd Jan away to Third in league Handsworth FC !
Thursday 31st Jan at home to Staveley Miners to hopefully get revenge for the equaliser in (fergie time) 90 + 7mins
I think many will agree that our earlier encounter with Staveley just before christmas was one of the best games of football many had seen for a while.
Once again thank you for all your comments, and support.

After what seems weeks, it looks like we are finally going to get some football with the !9's, and what a game this is going to be to restart the campaign.
RETFORD U19's V STAVELEY U19's both teams looking to be strong contenders for the league title. we are told the pitch is playable.
Again a massive thanks to all you Badger fans that get down to Cannon Park in numbers to support us.
I hope you can all get down tomorrow night, a great game is in prospect.
Thank you all for your support and encouragement, by helping us to develop young players for the future of the club.
We are pretty sure we have the best attendances in the league.
UP THE BADGERS !
