Unlucky Draw for the ladies...
Retford United 1-1 Arnold Town FC
The lady badgers were back in leauge action this week.
It was a cold afternoon at Manton but that didn't dampon the mood of the girls they were up for today and ready to give it there all.
The girls started off brightly creating a few chances that should of been put away with ease, but it was Arnold Town that took the early lead with a ball hit from distance and also with wind assist took the ball into the back of the net. There was nothing Tara Gaskin in the Retford net could do about it.
The girls kept pressing forward and kept creating chances but could not put it in the back of the net.
it wasn't until 5mins before half time that Retford were back on level terms, Lauren Cundy picked up the ball on the half way line and took it down the wing at pace weather it was meant to be a cross or not nobody cared as it flew in the top left of the goal leaving the Arnold keeper stunned.
Second half got underway and the girls upped the tempo, working hard down the wings Helen Corry and Kim Vardy. The middle of the park was now been bossed by Lydia White and Cassie Ellis winning ball after ball. The back 4 consisting of Nic Price, Katie Glynn, Lauren Cundy and Emma Pike, all four of them now letting anything through.
'Magic Pikey' played out her skin as left back bossing the Arnold Striker.
Up front Hayley Revill and Tammy Hessey were making themselves busy creating chances but could just not get the end product.
Full time whistle blew and the game ended 1-1 but the lady badgers should of come away with a win.
