Welcome to the RHC Cougars Minis
About the RHC Mini Rugby
What we offer is fun and games for boys and girls from the age of 5 to 11. P1 to P3 are touch only, P4,5,6,7 play SRU age grade variations. Our development officer, Steve Leckie, and his coaching assistants give rugby throughout the year at the local primary and secondary schools around the west of Edinburgh. Games are played on Sundays from 1pm usually at the Royal High School, East Barnton Avenue, Edinburgh. We travel to local rivals for training sessions and games, but we don't travel too far. Best to check the fixtures list for details of where we will be and at what time.
At S1 the kids them move up to the Royal High School where they continue with Steve and the coaching staff.
Its not expensive and we have great facilities at the Royal High with three good pitches, Astroturf and a gym. The clubhouse at Barnton is used for many events and gives parents free WiFi for when they want to wait for the kids. As members the clubhouse can also be used parties and private events throughout the year (Rugby birthday parties are great fun!!!)

A bit of boring but really interesting stuff for the parents :)
A hand in ball game was being played at the Royal High from 1810, and in 1856 the first rugby rule book came to the Royal High School where we modified our rules to there new rules. So officially Scottish Rugby started at the Royal High. The first school game was between RHS and Merchiston. The Royal High was one of the eight founding clubs of the SRU. Before moving to Jocks Lodge in 1921 we had been based at Union Park, so in 2003 when we merged with Corstorphine RFC based at Union park who were formed after the Royal High exit in 1921, we completed our journey.
