The Boxing Day Boot About went ahead with all players deservedly unshamed despite the weight of Xmas dinner hanging from the majority of their jerseys !!
Referee John Hughes' team (unofficially named the Heffers) were under the cosh early on as Heroes' Captain Huw Robertson comfortably slotted in the ball. But stalemate followed as the turkey and stuffing and plenty of beer began to take its toll.
The Heffers came back at the Heroes in the second half to take a commanding 4-1 lead with goals from Aled Wynne, Steve Walters, Gary Harris and Jordan. In extra time (+10) Huw Rowlands brought the score back to a respectful 4-3 at the whistle.
One concern .. the CCTV cameras caught an unexpected pitch invasion .. rumour has it Gary The Horse & Jockey Sherlock was guilty. The report is already with the FAW!
Whilst the lads frolicked in the wind Dai Groundsman Parry battled against the elements to cut the turf and roll the lines. He is probably still there hard at it !!
