A confident display by Ridgeway enabled the boys to overpower Lower Maze FC at Billy Neill by 4 goals to nil on Saturday.

Ridgeway opened the scoring after 3 minutes when they were awarded a penalty after Adam Close was fouled in the Lower Maze box. Adam scored the resultant spot kick to leave the score at 1-0. Ridgeway went on to dominate every facet of play and exerted almost constant pressure on their opponents. Rovers got their reward in the 27th minute when Ethan Boal latched onto a pass just inside the Maze half and embarked on a solo run towards goal, Ethan showed great pace and determination to shake off two Maze defenders and his shot from inside the box found the net making the score 2-0

Rovers continued to dominate in the second half and were unlucky not to go further ahead 15 minutes after the break when Ciaran Kelly had a great run into the penalty area only for his shot to hit the Maze post. The half continued with Ridgeway dominating possession and after some good play by Marcus Sloan in midfield, Ben Wightman shot from outside the Maze box to grab Rovers’ 3rd goal of the game. Ridgeway scored again 1 minute from time following a great midfield through ball from Ciaran Kelly to Ethan Boal who shot powerfully past the Maze keeper. 4-0
