A Round up of the weeks football

1st TEAM
Ringmer have been enjoying a bout of success recently with two cup wins, last Saturday they visited Rustington in the Sussex Senior Cup and ran out 6-1 winners on the day with 4 goals from Jordan Woodley and a brace from Jacob Shelton. On Wednesday night they travelled away again, this time to take on Horsham YMCA in the RUR Charity Cup. A good game of football from both sides ended with Ringmer beating last year's RUR winners 2-1 with Woodley netting both. The first a well taken penalty after Dan Rogers was manhandled to the ground during a Ringmer corner kick and the second an exquisite left foot shot that bent round defenders into the net. Ringmer's next round will be away at Mile Oak date TBC.

On Saturday (4th) the first team play the 2nd qualifying round of the FA Vase at the Caburn (KO 3:00pm) where the opponents will be St Francis Rangrs who were here last week where the two sides fought hard for a 2-2 league draw. Don't forget though if after 90 minutes of play, if the scores are equal there will be an extra 30 minutes play. If it is all square after this a replay match will be held on Wednesday 8th Oct at St Francis Rangers Ground with a 7:15 Kick off time. If there is no replay then the first team will be away to Crawley Down Gatwick on Tuesday 7th Oct as fixtured, kick off there will be 7:30pm.

RESERVES
A good win last Saturday at the Caburn against mid-table Hassocks. Ringmer won 2-1with Robbie Frost scoring on the half hour and Craig Olive in his first match this season bagging the second in the 80th minute. The Reserve lads who currently placed 6th in the league table, travel over to Haywards Heath (4th in table) on Saturday (4th Oct) in their next league match, kick off 3:00pm

YOUTH
The U18's travelled to Little Common last Sunday and despite scoring four times with goals from Luke Moore, Jamie Stevens, George Read and Ben Sadler, still came away with a loss as Common managed to score 8. The lads will be back up at the Caburn Ground this Sunday (5th) in the Youth League Cup where they take on visitors Oakwood Youth, 11:00 Kick Off.
