The match is the opening game of the season for a resurgent Ripon, who narrowly escaped relegation last season and are setting out to show they are better than that. The game will be away at Yorkshire Division 1 side Pontefract on Saturday 30th August, with a kick off at 3.00pm. The Ripon players and spectators will be meeting at Ripon RUFC at 12.45 to get to Pontefract in good time to warm up and enjoy the local hospitality.
