Slow start prevents first win
Slow start but great come back
We went on our travels to Farnborough to play Yateley United at their remote ground missing a few players with Adam Toms away on holiday, Tom Swindlehurst celebrating his birthday, Isaiah Inniss and Ryan Davies working plus Rhys Crowther, Corey Flynn and Liam Burnett all injured this gave others a chance to impress.
The game kicks off and the home team started very well confident in possession and showing very good movement throughout the team and soon got in front when in the 10th minute a fine move ended with the forward finishing off the move.
With only 2 recognised defenders Rangers struggled to find their feet and soon found themselves 0-2 down when the right sided player managed to get clear and calmly take the ball around Simmo in goal to tap home.
This caused Andy and Paul to make a change in positions with the returning Chris Hurford-Green switching to centre half and Ben Lewis dropping deeper in midfield and this soon paid off when Dan Deakins started to enjoy more of the ball and in the 39th minute he beat his marker very easily and fired in a low cross which Ben Lewis smashed home on the run into the box to pull a goal back.
This caused a bit of nerves in the home sides plans and Rangers were soon level shortly after as again Dan Deakin and Ben Lewis combined with Ben hitting the crossbar before Curtis Woodroffe followed up to volley in 2-2 in the 43 minute and send us in at half time level.
Half time 2-2
The second half begins with Nick Bressington coming on midfield allowing Rangers to play higher up the field and starting to move the ball as well as their opponents and straight away we attacked the now unsure defence with a cross which was cleared out to Greeny who calmly side foot volleyed over the keeper and even the player on the line what a great 10 minute spell with us totally turning the score around to lead 3-2 in the 46th minute.
Credit to both teams they pushed and attacked at every opportunity and numerous chances were created the best a half volley from Matt Hatt which looked to be destined for the back of the net but the keeper rose well to push over the bar.
Paul Nicholls then came on for the hard working Curtis Woodroffe and soon combined well done the right but his cross was eventually cleared. Then the home team did manage to equalise when a fine cross was headed home into the far opposite corner.
Then shortly after they broke away and a good move which ended with Simmo in goal tipping over the shot at full stretch.
The last real chance fell to Dan picking up the ball midway through the half and went clear but sadly fired wide.
Final score 3-3
A good game for the neutral with the home side playing very well for the opening 30 minutes then Rangers responding for the next 30 minutes and then either team could have won the game in the last third of the game.
