Disappointed by their loss against Panthers, Riverside A team were determined to train hard in the break between fixtures to be match ready for their next game. A well contested match between the two Riverside teams on Wednesday 18th April led to a 50 – 32 win to the A team.
, a new member to our club, slotted in well with Sarah Mercer and Leanne Forsyth
to create a strong defensive unit. Lucy Marlor and Kate Barker from Riverside B’s worked them hard with consistent shooting and feeds from the B’s attack. Vicky Percy slotted into the attacking unit easily and worked well with Rachel Barrett
and Alex Wood
to feed the ball into the shooting circle.
Riverside A’s took the lead in the first quarter but were contested strongly by the B team throughout the match. A solid team defensive effort enabled them to break away towards the end of the 3rd and into the final quarter, putting into practise defensive skills worked on in training.
A great team effort and strong shooting from Alex and Rachel enabled the A team to forge the lead and were very happy to walk away with a win.
The team are looking forward to building on this win during their next fixture against Willington on 2nd May.
