Wigan are the unbeaten league leaders in this division and Cobras were going to have to be at their best to contain them

With only Joe Chadderton unavailable, the locals went with a strong line up but switched a few players around to get more balance

Both teams started quickly and were throwing the ball around with aplomb, a good game ensued

Cobras were not daunted in the least by their opponents and matched them in every department with both Coop and Mellors (2) touching down, Cobras kicking is a little off at present and it is for this reason they went into the break 16-14 down

Cobras had the edge in the first half and had spilled two certain chances to go in front near the break

Battersby now had to leave the pitch and some reorganisation was needed in the three quarters line, this unbalanced the side a little and St Cuthberts gained momentum through some poor tackling, the Cobras need to consider the threat when facing runners going sideways instead of standing off!

Still, they kept pushing and were able to score again through Wood but the game was getting away and as they pushed to score, gaps opened for Wigan to run in some soft tries

The score flattered the home team as Cobras gave as good as they got throughout the game, Diggle was impressive when he came on and the pack stood tall against a good opposition pack, McAvoy and Whitworth tackled their hearts out

Haddley was excellent at full back, Wood never went backwards and Mellors moved from loose to stand off and did a fantastic job

Fair to say that this was the Cobras best attacking game to date, just need to tighten up on defence now
