A round up from our coach

Head coach James Tilley has so far guided the Cobras to a perfect start this season. Building on foundations laid by last seasons coach Dean Mignacca, Tilley has had a huge impact on the players. Issues with venues hampered preseason preparations with Cobras not able to have a full team run out on a full size pitch until the night before the first game of the season.

Speaking after the game this weekend against Culcheth :

The game went well today for me there was some great effort from everyone out there on Saturday, at times we played a bit dumb and put ourselves under pressure which came as a bit of a surprise after the way we played last weekend against a strong Manchester Rangers side, but because of the effort from the guys we managed to pull through. I thought Andy Reid went really well for his first game back his running style and no nonsense defence will be something that will help this year. Tom Morris was really impressive off the bench for us making good meters every time he took the ball in and scored a good try. The week off will do us some good, it will enable us to get on firgrove and start to run together as a team which we have struggled to do so far this year. The lads seem up for it this year and the commitment is something that I want to see continue. Looking ahead to our next game in a fortnight away against Westhoughton we will have a couple of players back and it looks like I will have some head aches when it comes to having to pick the squad.
