Kieran Longbottom did not add to his games tally in 2009 after he was a key find for the Emirates Western Force in 2008, making the step up to Super 14 level and proving he has what it takes to make a mark in the world’s toughest provincial rugby competition.
The only born and raised West Australian in the full-time squad, Longbottom earned a surprise call up to the reserves bench for a must-win late-season clash with the Chiefs at Subiaco Oval.
Entering the match after just ten minutes, the Rockingham prop never looked out of place against one of the competition’s elite front row units.
‘K-bomb’ went on to record two more caps from the reserves bench in his debut season and will push his claims for a starting jersey in what shapes as an exciting 2009 season for the 23-year-old prop.
