PRESEASON OFF TO GOOD START

Troy Strong and Justin "Gus" Martyn held the first preseason training for 2012

Rockingham Rugby Union Club kicked off preseason on Tuesday with an impressive turnout of 32. The group was largely comprised of players hopeful of Premier Grade selection with a number under 18’s and 20’s mixing with the seniors.

The clubs fitness guru Troy Strong will once more be taking charge of preseason with new Premier Grade Coach Justin Martyn focusing on assessing the individual players and working on improving the skill level of the group.

While addressing the group before the session Justin emphasised the importance of keeping a positive attitude and enjoying the sessions, pointing out that this mind-set would deliver a boost to team spirit and individual motivation.

The club will be training Tuesday and Thursday (excluding Australia Day) at Lark Hill from 6:30pm, with a number of team building events and unique sessions planned along the way. All senior players are welcome to join the sessions regardless of ability or experience.
