Sponsored Walk vs Run 2012 Start 1pm

Sponsored Walk vs Run 2012 Start 1pm image

On the 19th February we will participate in a 10 Mile Charity Walk vs 20 Mile Run from Rockingham Cricket Club to Sheffield's Children's Hospital.

Andrew Lockwood and a team from Kimberworth Striders will run 20 miles from Sheffield's Children Hospital to Rockingham CC then Back to the hospital while the rest of us will walk the 10 miles from Rockingham to the Hospital.

This is a joint Fundraiser between the 2 organisations, with the Cricket Club looking to raise money for the building of a new scoreboard and The Children's Hospital looking to upgrade Theatre's.

As most of you are aware one of our own junior player's Owen Wilkinson had his life saved by the remarkable people at the hospital after he suffered a fractured skull and a severe bleed in October 2011. The Charity is looking to raise money for their theatres, therefore we thought this was a worthy cause and something close to our hearts.

You can download the Sponsor forms fromhttp://www.pitchero.com/clubs/rockinghamcolliery/d/documents.html

We hope that all player's, supporters and junior parents would join us on this walk to continue backing your Community Cricket Club as well as a worthy Charity. Meeting at Rockingham at 12.45pm the walk will commence at 1pm with Andrew Lockwood setting off from the Children's Hospital at the same time.

You can donate Monies at http://www.justgiving.com/Mark-Wilkinson5

We are looking at a Non Stop Cricket event for Junior members's to participate in and this will be confirmed in the near future.
