Rocky Gorge wins 2012 MARFU Championship
This moves us to the National Sweet 16 where we will take on the best teams from around the country.
On the Weekend of April 28th and 29th 2012 Rocky Gorge went into the MARFU Champships with an undefeated MARFU record for the fall and spring.
The Semi-final was against Severn River where we won a tough battle 39-22. The was much closer than the score shows. Our impact players really came in and finished off the game with 3 tries in the last 15 min.
This moved us onto Wilmington in the finals on Sunday. Another back and fourth dog fight. Although some say it was rougher on the sideline. In the end both teams just gave everything they had and we were on the good side of a 29-24 victory.
This means we are the MARFU Champions and we get the #1 MARFU seed for the Sweet 16. This will be held in Pittsburgh on the weekend of May 12th and 13th 2012. We will have a game on both Saturday and Sunday. We will post here the final plans including hotel information and everything else when we get it organized. We would love for everyone involved with the club would come support us. After all it is only about 3 1/2 hours away.
