Romulus succumbed to a defeat at Carlton Town as the promotion chasing hosts took control following the opening goal.
There were few chances of note prior to the home side's opening goal after 24 minutes when Josh Thornton's corner was headed home at the far post Reuben Wiggins-Thomas.
A slip from Romulus skipper Phil Male helped Carlton towards their second with Sam McVicar collecting the loose ball blasting home a half volley from twenty yards seven minutes before the break.
James Reid wasted a good opening to get Romulus back in the game, but a third was added by the lively Wiggins-Thomas who latched onto another half clearance and picked his spot from the edge of the area on 67 minutes to wrap up the points.
An injury time strike from Anthony Griffiths Jnr completed the scoring with an assist from Wiggins-Thomas as the home side strengthened their grip on a play-off spot.
