Spiller keeps clean sheet in third consecutive draw
Romulus secured their third 1-1 draw in a row despite playing the final 20 minutes with an outfield player in goal at Coles Lane.
Goalkeeper Lewis Exall went off with a head injury after an accidental clash with Dan Williams leaving skipper Phil Male in between the sticks, who kept Sheffield at bay.
Exall was in fine form to claw away James Knowles' effort on 31 minutes - the Sheffield striker had hit a stinging snapshot following Conor Higinson's cross from the right.
Romulus had taken the lead a minute before the break – Todd Evans’ throw was flicked on by Nathan Blissett with Chris Morris turning smartly to convert from close range.
The lead didn’t last long though, Nathan Modest picked the ball up on the edge of the box and sent an 18 yard rocket flying into the top corner on 49 minutes.
Chances were few and far between in the closing stages, but Romulus almost grabbed the victory when James Reid hit the post from 20 yards, but the ball bounced to safety and the stalemate was maintained.
