Leaders prove too strong
Romulus were comfortably beaten at the Meres as leaders Grantham recorded their 17th win in 18 matches.
The Roms were caught cold in the second minute when Paul Grimes converted from close range after the ball had been flashed in from the right.
Town continued to dominate, but Romulus had the chance to level just before half time, Gavin Day heading wide when well placed following Nathan Blissett’s flick on.
The second half became increasingly one sided with Paul Watt heading home a free kick from the left on 48 minutes.
Ben Saunders lashed a half cleared free kick into the net on 62 minutes to make it three before Sam Purcicoe added a fourth with the goal of the game on 74 minutes.
Purcicoe set off on a mazy run down the right, leaving Todd Evans and Ben Richards-Everton in his wake before blasting past Chris Jay to round off the scoring.
