Weekend Preview: 21st January
A look ahead to the weekend action.
The Main go into the weekend having not played last week. A short notice training session was arranged midweek for both teams at the All Saints School but with only minimal space available. So both teams go into the weekend lacking in decent action for almost two weeks.
The 1st XI entertain Hallam at home on Saturday. The two have met twice previously this year already, once at home in the FA Vase 1st Qualifying round where the Main won 5-2 (goals from Adam Wisdom 2, Ben Hunter, Will Rowley and Zeph Thomas). The other was away midweek in the league where a late goal cost the main as they lost 2-3 (Thomas and Hatton).
Hallam currently sit 11th in the table having won their last game 4-1 against bottom club Appleby Froddingham.
The 2nd XI play the game that was postponed last week, a quarter final tie against Crofton Sports who are top of the Wakefield and District league. The Main should have been away at Swinton, but the Sheffield Association cup is given priority by the FA.
