It was vital that the Main won when they travelled to league strugglers Swinton if they wanted to keep in touch of league leaders Sutton. They did just that as they ran out 1-4 winners.

A few positional changes including James Batchelor playing up front, Scott Maughan in midfield and Shaun Nicholls wide right were employed to try and get past the hosts.

Goals from Doyle, Spencer, Maughan and a superb effort from Mark Gascgoine saw the Main ease their way to three points.

The last time the two met the Main breezed to an 8-0 home win, goals coming from Doyle, Fraser (3), Maughan, Griffiths (2) and Nicholls.

The Main are still to play Sutton, but not until after an equally imortant game against late comers Hatfield. Who sit fourth, 13 points off the pace. But with 6 games still to play can win the league!!
