A successful Let Me Play session at Invergordon last Sunday bodes well for the future of girls rugby

27 secondary school girls attended the Let Me Play session at Invergordon last Sunday, and what a cracking day it was.

With 12 coming across from Plockton HS (thanks Charlie Smith for your continued commitment and support!) and 15 from local Ross-shire schools, the day builds on the success of our Community and Rugby Development activities in local academies targeting rugby for girls, and the recent training session at Invergordon.

All the girls who attended were really committed and eager to learn, and the good weather made for ideal playing conditions.

The session was run by our CaRD DO John Mann who said afterwards:

"I have been totally impressed with the approach all the girls have taken. They are really keen to learn and their commitment on the pitch is fantastic - they could certainly teach some of the boys a thing or two! Having 27 turn up when many of them have weekend jobs really shows how girls rugby is growing, especially in the north.

They are desperate to get some proper game time now so with Charlie's help I'll be doing another training session next weekend (10th or 11th) and look to get some fixtures arranged in the new year."
