5-5 draw away at York. UPDATED with Match Report

Our young Development team shared 10 goals with City of York 10th team in an exciting and excellent game at Huntington School.

We went behind within 2 minutes, but Jack Hartley equalised almost straight away following a run down the right from Andrew Marshall.

York then dominated the remainder of the first half scoring 4 more goals mainly due to our loose marking and defensive error. We pulled one back just before half time when Andrew scored with a good strike from the top of the "D".

Jack Holcombe played well in the first half and helped create a number of chances that were not converted.

We made a tactical change at half time, moving Man of the Match Oliver DeRoeck to mark the dangerous York right winger who had created havoc in the first half and this proved a turning point.

The game went from end to end, but our re-organised defence kept York at bay and we took the advantage with Jack completing his hat-trick and Andrew scoring his second.

With two late injuries , we were reduced to 10 men but with the score at 5 all, the Umpires stopped the game with 2 minutes to go because the pitch was starting to freeze and become dangerous.
