Another Rotherham 'old boy' back in town at the weekend

There was another old boy in town at the weekend when Phil “you wouldn’t like me when I’m angry” Blackburn came back from his studies in York to run the Sheffield Half Marathon. He ran to support local cancer support charity Cavendish Cancer Care and raise vital funds for the independent charity that provides care and complementary therapies to more than 1500 families each year. Student life hasn’t affected Phil’s fitness as he completed the route in under 90 minutes beating many of the serious runners taking on the challenging new route.

As even Phil’s “ Brother from another Mother” George Leeson didn’t know he was taking part he may of forgotten the vital step of letting people know about the run so they could sponsor him. Thoise than have known Phil since he was a boy won’t be surprised by this so If you want to make a donation to Phil’s fundraising which he did along with some new mates at York Uni hockey club you can do so here http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/UYHChalfmarathon
