Sileby Town 3 Imps 1

In the local derby between Sileby Town and Rothley Imps, as expected Sileby had the opening posseion which was expected from the home side with no real threat to Rothely,Sileby took the lead when keeper Allen's punch was pounced on and after some die hard defending from John’The Beast’Ferrie it wasnt enough to stop the Sileby striker to tap in to make it 1 nil to the home side.

Rothley dusted themselves off and the Sileby keeper excelled with a good block from a corner and then superbly tipping over a fierce shot from Cole.

Both keepers made important saves early in the second half, Allen twice at full stretch kept out powerful efforts and at the other end the opposition keeper saved superbly from Ginvert twice and Green.

Manager Jarram then made a tactical change to the formation which saw Rothley drew level when good work from Skipper Wilson and Merryweather working hard in the engine room seen the Imps regain possession and it was Merryweather’s assist which saw Cole despatch a low shot past the Sileby Keeper.

The Rothley ‘fantastic four’ was having an excellent game at the back but was powerless to prevent Sileby going in front when Sileby's centre forward mishit shot rolled in from close range.

The Imps kept going and worked tirelessly but conceded a free kick which saw keeper Allen go down too early and the ball kicked off the surface and over him to ensure a Sileby win.
