Welcome to the Under 9s page. Roundhegians have a strong group of around 20-25 under 9s that have trained and played together for the past few seasons. Under 9s brings the new challenge of 'contact rugby'. After two seasons of tag and for the first time tackling is part of the game. However there are no rucks, scrums or line outs. Its an exciting, fast-paced game that rewards good handling skills, awareness of space and teamwork.

Training will focus on the safe transition to seven-a-side play, but the focus will as ever remain on team play, inclusion, respect for team mates, opposition and officials, and of course fun. Initial training sessions at Chelwood Drive give way to games, home and away against local sides, and with any luck a Spring Tour to an 'exotic location' (Scarborough in 2016). A highlight of the year.
Training runs every Sunday of the season starting on Sunday 4th September for previously registered members, with new club members being invited on Sunday the 11th. Sessions usually start at 10.30.
We will be delighted to welcome new or existing players back to the Memorial Ground. You don't need to have any experience, just don't mind getting muddy and have a gum shield please.
For further details please contact the Lead Coach- Jim Naylor, although Brian Taylor or Peter Cutting will be more than happy to help too
Parents- All RRUFC coaches are RFU trained and DBS checked, but far more importantly the club offers bacon/sausage sandwiches and hot drinks every Sunday
Look forward to seeing you soon
