Joe Kinghorn-Gray isn't the only youngster at the club that has taken the opportunity to go abroad over the winter. Our very own Michael Yellowlees has been out and about too...
"I have been in South Africa for just over three months now and have already become heavily involved with the coaching at Northwood High school in Durban. I am coaching a range of different age groups through the High school, as well as at different primary schools in the area and have recently been asked to take over running one of Chelsea Primary School's cricket sides and also to take on the role as coach for Northwood High School's 2nd XI team.
As well as being involved in team practices and group sessions, i have also been getting a lot of coaching doing private lessons. The lessons again are done at Northwood High School although are done using the facilities at 'Shedders Cricket Academy' which is based within the grounds of the school. The facilities are used by lots of different players from Juniors to 1st class cricketers and i have been lucky enough to coach and also train at the facility.
Just been to the Boxing Day Test Match to see Sri Lanka play South Africa. Happy New Year to everyone at the club!"
