Following on from the success of the RFL Associations Cup for Women, in which GB Armed Forces, GB Teachers, England Students and the English Lionesses competed, the RFL have introduced a National Women’s Squad.

The programme will focus around developing the player to be the best they can be, highlighting key areas for improvement and providing them with insights on what is required to perform on the world stage.

The programme will prepare the players to compete in future international competitions and although the 2017 World Cup may seem a long way away, the National Women’s Squad will provide the foundations for the team and establish the processes, behaviours and attitudes that are required to win.

The first of these sessions will take place at Leeds Beckett University on Sunday October 26 and coaches from the Associations Cup and the Women’s Rugby League Community Clubs will be invited to attend the session to further understand the philosophy behind the National Women’s Squad.
