Saturday night saw the association gather to celebrate 2014’s achievements at the annual Players Awards Dinner at HMS Excellent.

The Association returned to the WO, SR & SNCO’s mess for the occasion which was superbly planned by Ayeshea Lockton and Dave Garner and on the night the Mess Manager Karen and her staff delivered us great five course meal served around the presentation of the awards.

The awards were presented by our guests of the night from sponsors Steria, QinetiQ, the Royal British Legion and our Charity Partners UK4u along with RNRL President and Chairman and the squad coaches. Seniors skipper picked up both the prestigious Man of Steel Award as well as the Seniors Players Player of the year for his efforts in leading his team from the depths of the 2013 IS series to the heights of becoming IS Champions for 2014

Inter Services Player Of The Tournament – Darren Bamford

Presidents Award – Steve Lockton
Chairman’s Commendation – Mark Herzberg
Chairman’s Award – Andy Cooper
Club Captains Award – Jason Steele

The final presentation of the night was a new departure for the Association and was the presentation of Caps to the 20 strong Inter Services squad that beat the Army and RAF last September. It is planned to present similar caps in the future to any of the three squads that wins their respective Inter Services title.

Pictures of the evenings event will be posted on the site once our ace snapper John Williams has had chance to look through the hundreds of images he shot on the night. Prior to the evenings knees up John also shot the first ever Association photo featuring players, coaching staff and committee in the one shot!
