The closing date for applications for World Cup is 26th April and the ballot is on May 1st.

Please ensure you send me your name, your child's name and age group, if relevant, and the form suitably completed. Do this asap as I'd not relish a huge rush on Saturday!

Royston Rugby Club has been allocated a limited number of priority tickets for the 2015 World Cup

However the process in allocating the tickets and obtaining them is different from that normally used by the RFU for the allocation of International Tickets.

No more than two tickets per person per game will be available for the ten matches played at Twickenham and four per person per game for the matches played at other venues.

RRUFC has to nominate the individuals who can purchase tickets from its allocation to World Cup Ticketing (ER2015). Once those individuals have been registered they will receive an automated e-mail from ER2015 inviting them to register on their website ahead of the tickets going on sale on 16th May 2014. Tickets can then be purchased direct from ER2015. Tickets on this basis will remain on sale across all price bands until 30th June 2014, on a first come first served basis, but are subject to availability. If a price band is sold out then you will be advised of price bands where tickets are available.

A further opportunity to obtain tickets will be available in September when they go on sale to the general public. This further facility can be used whether or not you are successful in your application for priority tickets through RRUFC.

The timetable is quite tight as RRUFC has to upload the details of the individuals entitled to purchase tickets from its allocation between 6th May and 15th May. To enable this to take place the Application Form must be completed and returned not later than Saturday 26th April. You will then be advised by RRUFC in early May of the matches for which you are able to obtain tickets from the RRUFC priority allocation when they go on sale on 16th May.

It should be noted that our ticket allocation per match is less than 50% of our normal International Ticket allocation for matches at Twickenham and is unlikely to match the demand for the most popular matches.

At the bottom of the page is the Application Form and below are the terms and conditions of sale.

YOU SHOULD NOTE THAT TICKETS ARE ONLY FOR THE USE OF THE NOMINATED PURCHASER AND MUST NOT BE SOLD, TRANSFERRED OR OTHERWISE DISPOSED. (See Clauses 11 and 12 of Terms and Conditions )

Further details of the matches and ticket prices are available at www.rugbyworldcup.com

What you need to do now

  1. Look on the ticketing website www.rugbyworldcup.com and check that you are willing to pay the prices charged. Remember the tickets are on a first come first served basis and if you delay you may have to pay rather a lot. I do not want people allocated tickets that then do not take them up especially for the Twickenham games.
  2. Decide for which games you wish tickets. For non Twickenham games the Club will nominate 50 people and they may have up to 4 tickets each. (Total 200). These will be dealt with as a single block.
  3. For the 10 Twickenham games we will nominate 4, 5 or 6 people to receive 2 tickets each. Again look at the website at prices. They will be far more expensive than for normal games.
  4. Complete the form and return to Godfrey Everett by 26th April 2014.
  5. There will be a ballot for tickets, if necessary, on Thursday 1st May, at the club starting at 8.30pm.
  6. The ballot process will be as follows.
    • The first draw will be for the Final at 5 people for 2 each. If you are successful you will be removed from subsequent draws for the Twickenham matches.
    • The second draw will be for the semi final 2 and, again, those successful will be removed from subsequent draws.
    • This will continue until all Twickenham tickets are allocated. If, at any time a draw is not needed then the excess tickets will be available to others on the night, in a secondary draw, if necessary.
    • Then there will be a draw for 50 people for the non Twickenham matches for up to 4 tickets each.

  • I will then require your email address so I can upload your details to the system before 15th May and I will formally inform you that the job is done and confirm what tickets you may purchase. The Club’s involvement ends at this point.

  • You will then be contacted by the ticketing organisation to confirm your wishes, be given a password and from 16th May to 30th June you purchase your tickets on the basis of first come first served. I would imagine the 5 pairs of Royston tickets would not be together even if purchased at the same price.

They will then be sent to you at a later date.

The qualification for this is that you have been a paid up member of this club since September 1st 2013. I will ask the Treasurer for a list and if your name is not on it, sorry, you will have to wait until the public sale after 30th June.
If you do not follow the procedure given to the letter then I cannot accept any application.
This procedure is to ensure transparency and fairness to all. All tickets we have been allocated will be in the ballot. None are being held back so everyone has the same opportunity.
