Rugby Club 't Gooi werd opgericht in februari 1933 en goedgekeurd bij Koninklijk Besluit van 20 april 1966. Rugby Club 't Gooi heeft aan de bakermat gestaan van het vaderlandse en internationale rugby. Volgens de oude bondsnotulen en persberichten werd de club in 1933 na de Delftse Studenten Rugby Club aangemeld bij de Nederlandse Rugby Bond. Sindsdien hebben de ambities niet stilgestaan. Na behuizing van 23 jaar in de vestingstad werd het 50-jarig bestaan bekroond met een schitterend nieuw clubgebouw bij het rugbyveld op sportpark Naarden. Geheel volgens Finse stijl, van hout en grotendeels door eigen leden gebouwd. Bekend om haar vele activiteiten heeft Rugby Club 't Gooi echter ook altijd in de hoogste regionen van het rugbyspel gespeeld.
Nu 80 jaar na de oprichting kent de club ruim 300 leden, waarvan ruim 90 bij de jeugd. Na een korte terugval aan het begin van de jaren '90 zit de ledengroei wederom in de lift. Vooral de laatste vier jaar is de aanwas explosief gestegen wat heeft geleid tot een verdubbeling van het aantal leden. Met onze trainers, verschillende hulp-en gasttrainers, een behoorlijk aantal ervaren (nieuwe) spelers en de jeugdige talenten binnen de club, wil de club na dit jaar weer hoog geeindigd te zijn, een gooi doen naar het kampioenschap.

Rugby Club 't Gooi was founded in 1933, making it one of the oldest clubs in Holland. Our 1st XV is in the Premier Division and our 2nd XV is in the First Division, thus we play rugby at the highest level. Older players and young seniors play in the 3rd & 4th XV's. We have about 300 active players of which 90 are youth from 6 years and upward.
We take pride in our Rugby and have a strong coaching and training staff. Many of our players are selected for the Dutch National team. We are pleased to welcome expatriats from all over the world.
Rugby Club 't Gooi also takes pride in its tradition of being a great social club, a place rugbyers want to be. Our finnish style club-house adds to the atmosphere. Come and visit us.
