Long Overdue Rugby Rage Finals Showdown
The long awaited Warwickshire Cup Finals game played
Warwick Juniors won the long awaited prestigious Inter-Divisional Shield final in Rugby Rage by seventeen at Hereward College to bring
down the curtain on the 2010-11 season.
The most postponed tournament for many a year eventually went the way of Juniors who were on the day the better team. They clinched the victory from Rugby Rage who had beat them in style earlier in the season with only a six man team. Warwicks victory secured their name on the Shield along with the likes of defending champions Tile Hill Trojans, whose Chairman Ross Alexcander presented the shield to
Juniors captain Ricky Kular. Player coach Gurjit Rupal was visibly upset but did not lose sight of the fact that this was Rugby Rages very first season and it had been a very succesful season, not only securing a place in the Inter-Divisional Shield final but also gaining promotion. After the game Gurjit commented saying "i know all the lads are dead upset, but we have a young team with experienced players and the only way for this club is up".
With the finals now played 9 weeks after the regular season this now means that the season has finally, finally ended and Rugby Rage can now focus on getting ready for next season, starting with the Annual General Meeting in two weeks time and club dinner in 4 weeks.
